Mixed Media Paper Penguin – Kid Craft

It wouldn’t be the Valentine’s Day season without paper doilies being in every store!

You now it’s the truth when I say, you bound to pick up a pack or two between now and Valentine’s Day.

But don’t let those inexpensive paper pieces just be limited to “heart themed” crafts this time of year. A simple white circular doily can be easily incorporated into our Mixed Media Paper Penguin kid craft idea and I’ll show you the how-to below! #gluedtomycrafts

Isn’t our penguin stinkin’ cute?!

All you need to recreate this DIY idea is black & orange cardstock paper, a white doily for his belly, school glue, wiggle eyes and some white glitter. MIx them ALL together and you will have a one-of-a-kind penguin come to life too! No two pieces will be alike {unless you want them to be} but with kids steering their craft wheels, you are sure to have some awesome pieces that will come to life in no time!

To recreate, simply have children glue their white doily to the CENTER of the black cardstock. This is the penguin’s belly and the real HEART of the craft.

Now add some wiggle eyes, a cardstock orange nose and feet on the bottom to bring him to life.

Finish off with drawn on glue and GLITTER {lots and lots of glitter} to define his arms and hair.

Then set aside to let it dry completely, before displaying proudly!
